Opening of "Rhapsodies Beyond The Silk Road"

On November 9, 2013, esteemed painter Calvin Chua will unveil his latest works at G13 Gallery, ground floor, block B, Kelana Square, Jalan SS 7/26, 47301 Kelana Jaya, Selangor. Entitled “Rhapsodies Beyond the Silk Road”, this new series of 10 large paintings as well as sketches by the veteran artist was inspired by his journey to China and Central Asia.  It represents a bold step into the direction of gestural abstraction for the veteran painter known for his realistic depictions of gaeity children lost in play and fun, his celebration of the tranquility of village life and the lush abundance of Mother Nature. 

A fulltime artist for the last three decades, Calvin Chua’s  latest exposition explores a different approach, with a more dynamic style in capturing the spiritual impressions from his recent trip to the ancient sites.
